Davia is from Switzerland. She studied “special education and social pedagogy”. She has worked as a social education worker in a foster care home for children aged 3-6 years. Davia enjoys having fun with the children, singing and playing songs on the guitar. It is important that the children feel confident in the kindergarten and have a safe space for their further emotional and social development.

Deputy Manager

Born in West Germany she moved to Kiel to study Pedagogy and English. She focused on social work and child development for her Masters. She has worked in a residential home for 6 to 18 year-olds. She has worked with children who have experienced trauma and is an advocate for mental health, encouraging children to set boundaries and openly talk about their feelings to get support. She loves exploring the world with children as well as arts, crafts and baking.

Tizia grew up in the idyllic suburbs of Munich. She later studied Philosophy and Educational Science in Munich, Magdeburg, and London. During her studies, she focused on different aspects of learning, such as building resilience, forming a sense of self, or tackling (educational) inequality. She is eager to create an encouraging atmosphere of playful learning for children as well as ‘philosophise’ with children about different topics.

Angelika has worked as a Childcare Teacher since 2007, working with children up to the age of 18 and special needs children. She started in the U.S. getting her bearings in a small Lutheran Childcare Centre and in 2018, after moving to London, jumped on the Montessori School bus at a Nursery in Waterloo. In 2022, she joined the German Kindergarten where she continues to learn and play with the Children in a bilingual setting.
Through teaching, Angelika has found that learning through play is the best way. She values the rich imagination Children naturally have, attempts to bounce off of their ideas and gently adds guidance to help the Children acquire new knowledge. Angelika loves pretend play and music and loves singing with the children. She believes it’s important to support children in their independence and loves outdoor play.

Karthiga is from Germany, where she acquired a nursing degree specializing on pediatrics (Sozial– und Gesundheitswesen; Fachrichtung Kinderpflege). In 2011, she moved to England and joined the Herne Hill branch of the German Kindergarten from 2013 to 2015. After a long break, she joined the Bermondsey branch in Bermondsey. She is a highly motivated and enthusiastic nursery teacher who believes integrated play-based activities improve the children’s engagement in learning. Karthiga loves doing arts and crafts with the children and that is where she spends most of her time and activities.

Zoe is a recent BA Hons Education Studies graduate. She was born in the UK and moved to Germany at a young age for school and lived there for 7 years. She has worked in nurseries both in Hamburg and London, with children from different age ranges. Zoe enjoys drawing on creativity with children through drawing, reading and free play. She also understands that every child’s learning journey is different, so she makes sure to meet them at a place they are comfortable with. Overall, Zoe likes to ensure that every child is safe and loved and taken care of whilst in her care. 

Maryam is Bermondsey’s Early Years Apprentice currently working towards her Level 3 qualification. Art and reading are her passions, and she enjoys sharing her love for them with the children by incorporating them into our daily activities. She is sensitive and imaginative and loves taking part in nurturing the children’s creativity and love for learning. Maryam prioritizes teaching as much as building connections with the children, understanding each child’s specific needs as well as creating an engaging, comfortable environment for them. She enjoys seeing them build confidence, grow into themselves, and discover new things together through exploring and expression.
